The project

Years of cement render and plastic paint had trapped damp in the walls. We stripped them back, repaired the stone with lime and let the walls dry out before doing anything else.

The roof space now holds two bedrooms lit by conservation rooflights on the back slope, so the view from the lane hasn't changed.
